The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic weighs heavily on our communities, schools, and libraries. hoopla Digital is thinking of our library partners and our patrons as we navigate this together.
With so many libraries and schools closed, and millions of Americans staying at home, access to digital content and education has taken on an even greater importance. Midwest Tape, hoopla Digital, and Dreamscape are committed to helping this content remain accessible.
The hoopla Digital team has created a special Bonus Borrows collection of over 1,100 of our top titles, including new releases and hoopla favorites. This will help our partner Libraries continue to provide high-quality content and resources to their community, at no cost to their systems.
As part of the Midwest Tape commitment to our Library partners and their communities, hoopla Digital and Dreamscape, the Library-First Publisher, are funding the costs associated with the hoopla Bonus Borrows program.
This curated collection highlights several of hoopla’s top-circulating titles and includes enriching content designed to help families take care of themselves at this time, and maybe learn a new skill, with guides on stress management, DIY activities, cookbooks, home fitness, and homeschool education. You can view the curated collection here.
Dreamscape titles in this collection include titles from New York Times bestselling authors like Lisa Jewell and Martha Grimes and award-winning books and video like The Kiss Quotient (Goodreads’ Romance Book of the Year) and Drum Dream Girl (ALA Carnegie Medal winner).

More than 8,700 library staff, supporters, exhibitors, authors, and guests from across the country gathered to attend workshops, share experiences, and visit with vendors, including Midwest Tape at our brand new booth.
Sneak Peek of hoopla
During the conference, we offered attendees a first-look at hoopla, our new digital media platform designed specifically for libraries. Featuring a clean, user-friendly interface, the platform will provide an exceptional experience for patrons of all abilities. When implemented, patrons will be pleased to see how closely it resembles the physical library experience. Users will be able to borrow, use, and return the cloud-based stored digital content at any time from their computer or mobile devices.
Delivering the Exceptional
In addition to debuting hoopla, we also unveiled our new booth. Our open and inviting design allowed attendees to easily take in all we have to offer. Complete with numerous TVs, our tech-savvy booth allowed us to display multiple messages, which empowered our sales team to talk with attendees about all our exciting products and services.
We’ve Gone Social and Digital
Supporting our modern booth, we also let customers know that we’ve expanded even further into the online realm. We’ve joined Facebook and Twitter and now offer our Weekly mailers digitally.
